Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mechanic Mithra ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Amul Auto Spares, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Mechanic Mithra mobile app (the "App"). By registering as a mechanic or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information directly from you when you register and use the App:

We also automatically collect limited technical data through Firebase (Google), the backend platform the App runs on:

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your mechanic account, including admin approval of new registrations
To operate the QR-code loyalty program: recording scans, calculating and crediting reward points
To process point redemption claims and pay out your bank account, including required tax (TDS) withholding
To detect and prevent fraud (e.g. unusually rapid or repeated scans)
To send you in-app notifications about your account status (approval, rejection, force-update notices)
To diagnose crashes and improve app reliability and performance

3. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Google Firebase — our backend infrastructure provider (database, authentication, crash reporting, analytics). Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's own data processing terms.
Where required by law — for example, tax authorities in connection with TDS withholding and reporting.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Some operational records (activity logs, scan records) are automatically deleted after a fixed retention window (currently 90 days) as part of routine data cleanup.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us (see below). Note that deleting your account may affect your ability to redeem outstanding reward points, and we may be required to retain certain financial records for statutory periods even after deletion.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including hashed password storage, server-side access rules restricting who can read or write account data, and encrypted network connections. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adult business use (registered auto spare parts mechanics) and is not directed at children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
